Shannon Sharpe annihilates Tyreek Hill: ‘Tyreek Hill quit in the 4th quarter on his team’

ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe sounded off on Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill for his actions in the team’s final game of the regular season against the New York Jets.

Hill, who finished with just two catches for 20 yards in that game, appeared to pull himself from the team’s final game of the regular season. The Dolphins needed a win and a Denver Broncos loss to make the playoffs, but Denver ended up blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dolphins lost to the Jets, finishing the regular season with a 8-9 record.

Hill recently commented on his end-of-season interview where he seemed to imply that he was done playing with the Dolphins organization.

Sharpe wasn’t a fan of Hill’s explanation, and he laid into the veteran receiver in a recent segment on ESPN.

“I don’t wanna hear nothing Tyreek Hill gotta say,” Sharpe said. “Tyreek Hill quit in the fourth quarter on his team. I don’t wanna hear nothing about no frustration. I don’t wanna hear nothing about no dogs. Because you weren’t a dog in the fourth quarter. Jaylen Waddle asked you, ‘Reek, you done?’ You quit. Was that about your family? Was that about being a dog? I don’t wanna hear a damn thing Tyreek Hill is saying because Tyreek Hill quit on his team.”

The 2024 regular season marked the first time since 2019 that Hill failed to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in a single season. An eight-time Pro Bowler, Hill struggled with starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missing several games in the 2024 season.

Hill finished with just 81 receptions (his lowest total since 2019 when he played in just 12 games), 959 yards and six receiving touchdowns. Just one season after leading the league in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Hill posted his lowest yards per game (56.4) since his rookie season in the NFL.

Sharpe clearly wasn’t a fan of Hill giving up on his team in the final game of the regular season, even though Miami’s fate was all but sealed with Denver beating up on Kansas City.

Still, Hill didn’t send the right message to his teammates to prove that he’s willing to go to battle with them no matter what.

The Dolphins are facing a crucial offseason where they’ll need to figure out how to improve their roster to get back in the playoff mix in the AFC next season.
