Tyreek unable to contain excitement as Dolphins open training camp to fans: ‘Get your popcorn ready’

New Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn’t being shy about his excitement for the 2022 season, suggesting that fans attending the team’s training camp get their “popcorn ready” in anticipation of what’s ahead.

Hill was acquired by the Dolphins earlier this year in a blockbuster deal that required the team to give up some serious draft capital.

That steep cost was due to the 28-year-old Hill’s huge production during his first six seasons in the NFL, all of which came with the Kansas City Chiefs.

In his career, Hill has caught 479 passes for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns, and he’s coming off of a 2021 season in which he hauled in 111 passes and scored nine touchdowns. During four of his NFL seasons, he’s managed to surpass 1,000 yards receiving.

Such eye-popping statistics are what the Dolphins are certainly hoping for after two consecutive seasons of Miami narrowly missing the postseason.

Third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will no doubt target Hill on a frequent basis during the 2022 season and will also have second-year receiver Jaylen Waddle as a weapon.

Hill’s blazing speed is one of his biggest assets, though he also brings along postseason experience that’s expected to be invaluable for Miami.

In each of the past four seasons, Hill and the Chiefs reached the AFC Championship and twice advanced to the Super Bowl. In the 2019 campaign, the Chiefs finally ended a 50-year title drought when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in that season’s Super Bowl.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, haven’t won a Super Bowl title since the 1973 campaign. Fans would love to see that change this season.
