Tyreek Hill ‘really’ wants to see Patrick Mahomes 3-peat with Chiefs

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn’t playing in the Super Bowl this season, but his former team is.

Earlier in his career, Hill won a ring with the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, they’re trying to win their third consecutive championship, all without him.

Hill seems torn on who to pull for in February’s Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, but he does want to see his former teammate Patrick Mahomes capture a third straight ring.

“I wanna see Pat three-peat,” Hill said. “I do. I really wanna see Pat three-peat, but also, I got some friends on the Philadelphia Eagles, man, so, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, he a buddy of mine. A.J. Brown, I wanna see him ball out, obviously. So I just wanna see a good game, man. So, dang, I do wanna see Pat three-peat.”

In the 2019 season, Hill was a key contributor as the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in decades. He stuck around with Kansas City for a couple more years after that before he was traded to the Dolphins following the 2021 season.

In Hill’s first two seasons with the Dolphins, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl both times. Hill’s third season with Miami just wrapped up when the team missed the playoffs, and Kansas City is now looking to keep the trend going by winning another one.

Hill might have some mixed emotions about seeing his former team enjoy so much success without him, but he still seems to wish the best for his old quarterback.

Mahomes has proven that he can win without Hill. Moving forward, Hill will look to show that he can win without Mahomes.

If Hill returns to the Dolphins next season, a deep playoff run — ideally one ending with a championship — would probably go a long way toward him feeling like he didn’t make a mistake by taking his talents to Miami via trade.

The veteran’s 2024 season was disappointing. His production was down as he played through injury. He appears motivated to bounce back next season, and the question is whether he’ll try to do that with the Dolphins or somewhere else since his future has become a topic of discussion.

Meanwhile, this year’s Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Eagles is set for Feb. 9.
