Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly will play on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams despite dealing with a wrist injury.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hill first injured his wrist in Miami’s joint practice with the Washington Commanders all the way back in training camp and then tweaked it last week.
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was recently asked if Hill will need surgery on his wrist, and Rosenhaus didn’t give a straight answer.
Hill has suited up for every game for Miami this season, even when he was detained prior to Miami’s season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8. He played in that contest and had maybe his best performance of the season to this point.
He totaled a season-high 130 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on seven receptions. His longest reception of the campaign to this point also came against the Jaguars, considering he scored an 80-yard touchdown.
Hill has been one of Miami’s most productive receivers this season, as he has totaled 446 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown and 19 first downs receiving through eight starts thus far. But it’s also worth acknowledging that he is amid a down year, at least by his lofty standards.
The 31-year-old totaled a league-high 1,799 receiving yards in the 2023 regular season, yet he may finish with under 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in years. He totaled 860 in 12 games played with the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2019 regular season, his fourth season in the pros.
Even though Hill will play against the Rams, the larger concern among Dolphins fans should be whether or not his wrist will require surgery. Hill has been a durable player since he joined the Dolphins, as he played all 17 of the team’s games in his first season in Miami and missed just one contest a season ago.
