Tyreek Hill unable to contain excitement ahead of Miami Dolphins matchup vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Sunday Night Football game pitting the Miami Dolphins against the Philadelphia Eagles is one of the most anticipated matchups so far in this NFL season, and Tyreek Hill is all about the hype surrounding two of the league’s best teams.

“Got two 5-1 teams,” Hill said. “Going to be a prime-time game. It’s gonna be real fun. I think it’s gonna be the most-watched game all season.

“I’m really looking forward to it. They got a real good offense. Both one and two offenses (in the NFL). Eagles No. 2, we obviously No. 1. And then that defense, their defense is real good, and our defense is real good.”

The Dolphins and Eagles each lead their divisions and are bringing the top two offenses based on yards per game into the contest. Hill is proud of his unit but also is speaking highly of his defense and the one he will have to go against at Lincoln Financial Field.

“Our defense is now finding their identity, and just talk about their defense,” Hill said. “Their defense has a real good D-line, and they got two stud corners. That whole defense has a list of Pro Bowlers and All-Pros.”

Hill has not struggled against any opposition this season, putting up eye-popping numbers in the six games with 42 catches for 814 receiving yards and six touchdown receptions. He and the rest of his offensive teammates – including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, running back Raheem Mostert and fellow receiver Jaylen Waddle – now get to show their skills on the featured NBC stage.

“So as a ballplayer, this is what you want,” Hill said. “Like these are the games that you want because this is where you make your name in the league. This is where guys get paid. This is where guys get their stardom cards on prime time. Going up against the best, man, I love it.”

Hill and Waddle will be facing a formidable challenge from Eagles cornerbacks James Bradberry and Darius Slay while Tagovailoa will be dealing with a pass rush led by Haason Reddick.

“Going up against another South Georgia boy in Darius Slay,” Hill said. “… I know me and him finna be talking trash. It’s gonna be fun trash, but it’s gonna be competitive. It’s gonna be gritty. It’s gonna be all heart on Sunday Night Football. So, fire me up!”

Miami may have something to prove to the NFL universe facing a team the caliber of Philadelphia, the defending NFC champion which lost the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs in February.

The Dolphins have not beaten a team with a winning record this season and lost to their only other high-profile opponent when the Buffalo Bills defeated them 48-20 in Week 4. It caused TV and radio host Colin Cowherd to disparage their credentials in the days leading up to the game.

The Eagles are coming off their only loss of the season, a 20-14 setback to the New York Jets on Sunday. With Jalen Hurts at quarterback and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, they are among the few NFL teams that may have the firepower to match the Dolphins’ high-scoring offense.

This significant early-season test will show a lot about both sides and where they line up among possible Super Bowl favorites. That is one reason why Hill and Dolphins fans are so excited about the showdown in prime time on Sunday.
