Tyreek Hill says Tua Tagovailoa, Patrick Mahomes or Terry McLaurin could be face of NFL in 5 years

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill included quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on his list of players who could be the face of the NFL in five years.

Hill included Tagovailoa, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin on his list.

“That’s a great question,” Hill said. “I’ve never heard that one before. Patrick Mahomes, Tua and — damn, I’m old so I can’t say me — Terry McLaurin.”

Hill spent the beginning of his career with Mahomes and the Chiefs, and he clearly still has some love for his former quarterback. Hill and Mahomes won a Super Bowl together with the Chiefs, and Mahomes has won an MVP award already in his NFL career.

Now, Hill is hoping to continue his impressive NFL career while catching passes from Tagovailoa. The Dolphins acquired Hill during the offseason in a trade that sent several draft picks back to the Chiefs.

During the 2021 season, Tagovailoa appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins, making 12 starts. He threw for 2,653 yards and 16 touchdowns. Those numbers aren’t exactly outstanding quarterback stats, but Hill will be by far the best receiver that Tagovailoa has played with in the NFL.

If Hill can help Tagovailoa take his game to the next level, the quarterback certainly could become a face of the NFL in the next few seasons.

The most interesting pick from Hill may be McLaurin, who is already 26 years old. The former third-round pick has put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, and Hill clearly believes that McLaurin is going to remain one of the best receivers in the NFL for years to come.

McLaurin has 16 touchdown catches in his first three seasons in the NFL, and he now has a chance to take the next step with Carson Wentz taking over as the Commanders’ quarterback in the 2022 season.

Hill may not have included himself on his list, but Dolphins fans are hoping he can continue to be one of the best receivers in the NFL throughout his entire contract with the team.
