Video: Chris Simms Calls Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver DeVante Parker a ‘Superstar’

Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker is coming off a strong 2019 season, with former quarterback Chris Simms calling him a superstar.

Simms made the comment during his co-hosting duties on PFT Live, which is simulcast on both NBC Sports Radio and cable network NBCSN.

Last season, Parker hauled in 72 receptions for 1,202 yards and caught nine touchdown passes, bouncing back from an injury-plagued 2018 campaign in which he was limited to just 24 receptions and a single touchdown catch.

The 27-year-old had some offseason social media debating about his talents during the offseason, specifically with Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints.

That particular debate sparked a brief flurry of jabs on each side but ultimately faded out. However, Parker also offered a cryptic social media comment after being left out of a ranking of the NFL’s top 100 players list.

Another season like 2019 should vault Parker onto that list, but exactly who will be throwing to him is still a potential question mark.

Veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick is likely to start the season behind center, but the heir apparent is the Dolphins’ top pick, Tua Tagovailoa, who continues to learn the Dolphins offense and recover from major hip surgery last year.
