Despite a track record that has drawn criticism for past failures in the NBA postseason, Tatum just helped the Celtics win their 18th league championship in franchise history. His 31 points led Boston in its title-clinching 106-88 victory against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Monday night.
Though Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown was named MVP of the Finals, Tatum played well enough that much of the criticism that’s been levied at him in the past may start to subside. Before the title, the 26-year-old said that a team championship was more important to him than any individual award.
While celebrating the title, Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens also weighed in on haters of the star duo, calling the criticism directed at them “stupid.”
In addition, after the title-winning game, footage surfaced generating speculation that Tatum’s girlfriend, singer Ella Mai, may be pregnant, though the couple reportedly has not announced publicly that they are expecting.
Ramsey may get a chance to acknowledge all of Tatum’s good fortune in person as the Celtics reportedly plan to celebrate their championship with some time in Miami before a parade is held for them in Boston.

The three-time NFL All-Pro also used social media to comment on a recent WBA lightweight championship boxing match between Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin, which ended with a vicious eighth-round knockout.
The standout cornerback has a championship of his own, earned as a member of the Los Angeles Rams thanks to a 23-20 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI to conclude the 2021 NFL season.
Miami will enter the 2024 NFL campaign trying to win a championship of its own for the first time since it won back-to-back titles in the 1972 and 1973 seasons. The Dolphins have not won an NFL playoff game in more than 20 years.
Knowing what it takes to win a title, Ramsey will enter his second season with Miami as an important figure as the Dolphins get set to begin another quest for an elusive third Super Bowl victory.
