Jevon Holland has noticed he’s never in any Dolphins social media posts anymore: ‘I’m not in none of this s–t’

Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland is a pending free agent, and some comments he recently made regarding his situation added fuel to the fire that there’s a possibility he’ll be playing for a different team next season.

According to Holland, he’s going to let the “chips fall where they may” and hinted that he’s excited for when his options will be in front of him so he can pick and choose what makes sense for his career.

With his future in Miami murky right now, Holland made an observation that he doesn’t see himself in any of the Dolphins’ social media posts anymore.

“I guess from being with the Dolphins and kinda transitioning into I’m about to be a free agent kinda thing, transparently, seeing the Dolphins post things, like the Valentine’s Day stuff or any type of edits and things like that, and you could see guys that may not be here next year or may be somewhere else are just not in it,” he said when asked to name something that’s taken him by surprise. “So, I’m following them on Instagram, right, and I’m not in none of this s— no more.”

He continued.

“Let’s not include ’em because we wanna focus on the guys that we know are gonna be here next year,” he said, explaining that he understands the thinking. “There’s a possibility that I’m not, so — but noticing that, I’m like, ‘Damn.’ Now I’m just like, I’m following the Dolphins, which obviously I’m still following ’cause I was just there, but I’m following them, like, ‘I’m not in none of this s— no more.’

“I’m like, ‘Alright, might as well just — why am I following?’ Nah, but it’s like, okay, I get it. I understand the decision to do that because, I mean, I would do the same thing if I was in the same position. … I get it, but I’m just like, okay, this is kind of the effects of being a free agent. Your team, or what was your team, starts to kinda phase you out in a way. And you could kinda feel that through the fans as well.”

Holland has been a crucial component of Miami’s defensive unit since he was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 60 games since then and started 57 of those contests. He’s also appeared in and started one playoff game with the Dolphins.

At times, he has looked like a top player at his position. However, whether or not he is still capable of producing at that level is unclear at this time. While he had his promising moments throughout the 2024 season, Holland is fresh off what was maybe his worst season as an NFL player so far.

In 15 games played (all starts), he totaled 62 combined tackles and 42 solo tackles, both of which marked career-lows for the former University of Oregon standout. He also failed to register an interception during the season (a first for him in the NFL) and equaled a career-low for passes defended.

Fortunately, Dolphins fans seemingly won’t have to sit on the edge of their seats wondering what Holland’s future in Miami will look like for much longer. After all, NFL free agency officially kicks off on March 12, which is less than one month away at this time.

Folks should be prepared to see Holland get connected in rumors to other NFL teams outside of Miami in the weeks leading up to the start of free agency. Perhaps he’ll join a team with a real puncher’s chance at winning the Super Bowl next season. Of course, the Dolphins are hoping to fit that description themselves.
