Tua Tagovailoa drives fans crazy after looking unrecognizable in public appearance

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa showed off his clean-shaven look at a meet-and-greet recently, and fans couldn’t believe it.

There was a ton of feedback on Tagovailoa’s look on social media, with one account comparing him to his brother and another wondering if it truly was the Dolphins star.

One social media user also called the quarterback’s new look the “Disney” version of him, while another compared him to actor Corbin Bleu.

There’s no doubt that the Dolphins quarterback looks different without his facial hair, so much so that a fan said he “looks like a kid.”

Another user on social media thought that Tagovailoa was actually the fan that was taking a photo with the star quarterback.

Tagovailoa has become one of the biggest figures in Miami sports – especially when it comes to the Dolphins – so any change in his appearance is certainly going to elicit some type of reaction.

It’ll be interesting to see if the star quarterback keeps the clean-shaven look for the 2024 NFL season.

The 2024 season will be Tagovailoa’s fifth with the Dolphins after they selected him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Tagovailoa has been a huge part of Miami’s back-to-back playoff appearances in the 2022 season and 2023 campaign, playing some of the best football of his career in 2023.

The University of Alabama product threw for an NFL-leading 4,624 yards last season, posting career-highs in completion percentage (69.3 percent) and touchdown passes (29). His play earned him the first Pro Bowl nod of his NFL career.

Miami is hoping that Tagovailoa can continue to build on that performance in 2024, especially since he’s due for a lucrative contract extension. The Dolphins quarterback currently is under contract for the 2024 season after Miami picked up his fifth-year option, but the two sides reportedly still remain apart on a long-term deal.

With Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and other key offensive players under contract, Miami certainly doesn’t want to break up its core, especially since it has enjoyed some impressive offensive success since acquiring Hill prior to the 2022 season. Miami finished No. 1 in total yards and No. 2 in points in the 2023 regular season.

Hopefully, it can come to an agreement with Tagovailoa to keep the lefty with the franchise for years to come.
