Agent of many Miami Dolphins players dives into details on talks with Chris Grier

Sports agent Drew Rosenhaus is an important individual in the NFL, as he represents a number of key players around the league.

When it comes to the Miami Dolphins, they’re no different, as the 57-year-old works with a plethora of players from the organization.

When Rosenhaus was recently asked how he and Dolphins general manager Chris Grier approach things in the offseason, he gave a fascinating response.

“Well, without getting into too many specifics about the business that we do with the Dolphins and our clients, it’s a lot of conversations,” he said. “It’s several meetings, multiple conversations and whatever it takes. We’re gonna obviously talk about Andrew [Van Ginkel]. We’re certainly gonna talk about Connor Williams. We’re gonna have conversations about not only our free agents, but guys who could be heading into the last year of their contract and deserving of extensions or players that may not be a great fit anymore, could potentially be trade candidates, all kinds of stuff. And not just with the Dolphins — this is what I do with every team.”

As it pertains to Van Ginkel and Williams — two players that Rosenhaus mentioned by name — it’s going to be an important offseason for both.

Van Ginkel is a free agent this offseason, and he’ll look to gain some clarity on his future soon. Rosenhaus recently said that the 28-year-old would like to return to the Dolphins, so time will tell if the sides are able to work something out.

Van Ginkel appeared in 17 games during the 2023 regular season and racked up 69 combined tackles, six sacks, eight tackles for loss and 19 quarterback hits. He also had one interception (which he returned for a touchdown), one fumble recovery and eight passes defended. The former fifth-round pick has spent his entire career with the Dolphins.

Williams, meanwhile, is also a free agent this offseason. Unlike Van Ginkel, Williams started his career elsewhere (with the Dallas Cowboys) before landing with Miami.

An ACL injury derailed the 26-year-old’s 2023 season, but in the 2022 campaign, he was a constant presence for the Dolphins, starting in all 17 of their regular season games as well as their lone playoff game.

It’s going to be a busy offseason for Rosenhaus, Grier and the Dolphins, with Miami looking to get a little closer to Super Bowl contention after taking another quick exit in the playoffs this season.

With Rosenhaus also representing a number of other Dolphins players, Miami will do its best to stay in the good graces of the veteran agent.
