Miami Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb expresses frustration with not being able to win against elite teams

On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 21-14, which makes them now 6-3 on the season.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and running back Isiah Pacheco led the way for Kansas City. The former threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while the latter ran for 66 yards on 16 carries.

After the game, Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb expressed frustration with the team not being able to win against the top teams in the NFL.

“It’s frustrating for sure,” Chubb said. “You wanna win these big games. It’s not like, ‘We playing these guys let’s go out there and lose.’ We play our hearts out until the whistle ends. You see it in this team. We got fight. We got everything that you could possibly need from a championship-caliber team.”

Before joining the pros, Chubb played college football at North Carolina State University for four seasons.

Chubb is in his second season with the Dolphins following a stint playing for the Denver Broncos, who selected him with the No. 5 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

All three of Miami’s losses so far this season have come against elite competition.

The team’s first loss of the season came against the Buffalo Bills — who own a 5-3 record — on Oct. 1. This game wasn’t close, seeing as how the Dolphins lost 48-20.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen racked up 320 passing yards and four passing touchdowns compared to zero interceptions. He outplayed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who finished with 282 passing yards and one interception.

The Dolphins’ second loss of the season was against the 7-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 22. Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was arguably the star of the game as he accumulated 137 receiving yards on 10 receptions and one receiving touchdown.

Miami lost to the Eagles by 14 points, 31-17, but was trailing by just seven points at the start of the fourth quarter. The Dolphins were outscored 7-0 in the final frame.

The Dolphins won’t be facing another elite NFL team for quite some time. They will take on the 5-2 Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve.

The Cowboys have won their last two games and three of their last four. Notably, they embarrassed the New England Patriots on Oct. 1, as they beat the team 38-3. Patriots quarterback Mac Jones threw two interceptions in the loss.
