NBA star Paul George challenges Jalen Ramsey to 1-on-1 football battle: ‘I want the smoke’

Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is currently helping his team prepare for the 2023 NBA Playoffs, but he’s also seemingly preparing to burn Miami Dolphins star corner Jalen Ramsey on the football field.

George recently made it clear that he wants all the smoke with the three-time All-Pro defender.

“If I’ma challenge a football player, I gotta go for the best,” he said. “Jalen, Derwin [James], I want the smoke this summer, me and you, one-on-one. After that, we can play ones in basketball, but I need that football smoke.”

It’s great to see that George is up for some fun competition once basketball season ends, but he would do well to focus on the task at hand right now. In fact, he is currently injured and will miss the start of his team’s huge first-round matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

George has had another characteristically strong season so far. In the regular season, he put up 23.8 points, 6.1 boards and 5.1 assists per game, hitting 45.7 percent of his field goals and 37.1 of his shots from deep.

It’s worth noting that the veteran unfortunately ended up playing in just 56 regular season games. Those 56 games actually mark his most in a regular season since the 2018-19 campaign when he played in 77 games. George struggles to stay on the floor at times.

As for Ramsey, he is sure to play a major role in the Dolphins defense this coming season. He will team up with fellow star corner Xavien Howard, and many expect the two to be one of the best corner duos in the league.

If Miami’s defense can tighten things up compared to last season and do a better job of containing opposing offenses, the Dolphins could be a major force to be reckoned with.

Perhaps Ramsey can get some work in this offseason by battling with George both on the football field and basketball court. Fans will have to keep their eyes on both players’ social media pages this summer to see if the two athletes do end up having some fun by battling one another.
