Tyreek Hill says he’d play for the Minnesota Vikings if he had it his way and could choose his team

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill apparently would have chosen to play for the Minnesota Vikings if everything was up to him.

“If I had it my way though. If I had to choose any team I wanted to play for, growing up as a kid I was a Minnesota Viking fan,” Hill said. “I love the Vikes, man.”

It seems like Hill’s reasoning for choosing the Vikings would be to fulfill his childhood dream, but he’s been terrific with the Dolphins this season and is locked into a long-term deal.

Dolphins fans have to be happy with what Hill has brought to the table in his first season with the team, as third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is having by far his best season as a pro in the 2022 campaign.

This season, Hill has already caught 81 of his 106 targets for 1,148 yards and four touchdowns. He leads the NFL in receptions and receiving yards so far this season, and he has a chance to break 2,000 receiving yards if he finishes the regular season strong.

The Dolphins have Hill locked into a four-year deal that kicks in starting next season. If Hill remains with the Dolphins for his entire contract and isn’t cut or traded, he will be with the team through the 2026 season.

There’s always a chance that Hill could explore his childhood dream of playing for the Vikings after his deal runs out, but the Dolphins could also use the franchise tag on the star receiver to keep him in Miami or work out a favorable trade for the team.

Right now, it seems like Hill is pretty happy with the Dolphins, as the team is 7-3 and on a four-game winning streak that has propelled it to the top of the AFC East standings. The Buffalo Bills are also 7-3 this season, but Miami beat them in their first head-to-head matchup of the 2022 season.

The Dolphins have a real chance to make the playoffs in Mike McDaniel’s first season as the team’s head coach, and the dynamic receiver duo of Hill and Jaylen Waddle is a big reason why.

Vikings fans can dream of Hill playing for their team someday, but for now the Dolphins are going to appreciate what they have in the speedy wideout for as long as they can.
