Dan Orlovsky emphasizes how important Tua Tagovailoa is to Miami Dolphins with fascinating distinction

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is set to return to action this weekend, and that’s a huge relief for the squad.

At 3-3, Miami desperately needs to get back in the win column, and the team will have a chance to do so on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky recently spoke about Tagovailoa’s impending return, and in the process, he raised some extremely interesting points. Orlovsky seems well aware of how important Tagovailoa is to Miami’s success.

As Dolphins fans know well, the team started the season with a 3-0 record thanks in large part to Tagovailoa. The youngster looked fantastic over the first three games of the season, completing 71.3 percent of his passes for 925 yards, eight touchdowns and just two interceptions.

In the time since he left Miami’s Week 4 game with his heartbreaking injury, the team has gone 0-3. In all likelihood, that’s not a coincidence.

It has become abundantly clear how badly the Dolphins need Tagovailoa.

The 24-year-old caught a ton of heat over his first two NFL seasons, with many folks feeling like the Dolphins made the wrong call by selecting him fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

But with Tagovailoa now in his third season, one thing has become virtually undeniable: The Dolphins win when he plays.

Wins and losses may not be the most effective way to evaluate quarterback play, but it’s impossible to overlook the success the Dolphins have had with Tagovailoa starting. The team is 16-9 in games started by the University of Alabama product since he came into the league.

There’s a direct correlation between Tagovailoa’s availability and Miami’s success.

With the Dolphins needing a win this Sunday in the worst way, fans are hoping Tagovailoa will save the day in his return to action. The young passer doesn’t believe he is the savior of the team, but many fans likely disagree.

After facing the Steelers, the Dolphins will battle the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns before heading into their bye week.

Miami will need to go 3-1 over its next four games in order to enter the bye week with a winning record.
