Chase Edmonds and LeSean McCoy agree that Miami Dolphins RB is going to ‘snap’ this season

The addition of Chase Edmonds to the Miami Dolphins backfield is something that both he and former running back LeSean McCoy expect to result in a huge boost to the team’s offense.

McCoy spoke with Edmonds during the Dolphins’ training camp as part of the “I Am Athlete” podcast, with McCoy offering his enthusiastic assessment of what the newcomer gives the Dolphins.

“Fantasy-wise, I’m gonna pick you on my team,” said McCoy. “Not just because you’re my dog, but I believe you gone snap. … When you came to this scheme, I said, ‘You’re gonna kill this scheme.'”

Edmonds spent his first four NFL seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before signing with the Dolphins this offseason.

Coming off his best season yet when it comes to rushing yards, Edmonds is still waiting for a huge breakout season. He gained 592 yards on the ground last season and has caught 96 passes during his past two campaigns.

The Dolphins are certainly hoping that he can provide a boost to the team’s running game. That would help stop opposing teams from keying in on the team’s potent receiving corps.

McCoy certainly has the background to be offering opinions on the talents of running backs. In an NFL career that spanned from 2009 to 2020, McCoy rushed for 11,102 yards and scored 73 rushing touchdowns.

The output from McCoy came as a member of four different teams, though his most productive seasons came with the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. In six of his seasons, he rushed for over 1,000 yards.

The Dolphins probably aren’t concerned with Edmonds delivering huge numbers. After two consecutive near misses when it comes to the postseason, the team would simply prefer that Edmonds help it reach the playoffs this season.
