Elandon Roberts praises Mike McDaniel’s genuine personality: ‘He’s him’

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has seemingly made a lasting impression on many members of the Dolphins organization, even though he hasn’t been with the team for a long time.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reportedly has never been happier than he is under McDaniel’s leadership. New Dolphins receivers Tyreek Hill and River Cracraft have also shown love to McDaniel.

It seems like there has been a huge culture shift in South Florida in recent months, and McDaniel has been at the forefront of that change.

Dolphins linebacker Elandon Roberts recently spoke about McDaniel and praised the 39-year-old’s genuine personality.

“His personality, the way he is…he’s him; you see a genuine person,” Roberts said regarding McDaniel during an episode of “The Fish Tank.”

Roberts is definitely happy about getting the chance to play under McDaniel.

“Whatever [McDaniel] asks me to do, as a leader, I’m gonna do it,” Roberts said.

The linebacker has been with the Dolphins since 2020, registering 144 combined tackles in two seasons with the team. Last season, Roberts recorded 83 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one interception. The former sixth-round pick returned that interception for a touchdown.

The Dolphins are surely hoping that McDaniel will help lead the team back to the playoffs. Miami last made it to the postseason during the 2016 season.

Miami narrowly missed out on the playoffs in each of the past two NFL campaigns despite having winning records in both seasons.

McDaniel was hired away from the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year to replace Brian Flores, who was fired by the Dolphins after three seasons with the team.
