Shortly after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2021 season came to an end, it was reported that legendary quarterback Tom Brady was hanging up his cleats for good.
He eventually confirmed the reports and shocked the football world by announcing his retirement.
Just a few weeks later, however, he announced that he would not be retiring and would instead return to the Buccaneers.
His plans for the 2022 season are clear now, but that wasn’t always the case. Some even believed that Brady was interested in joining the Miami Dolphins at one point.
Brady recently discussed those rumors, but he left a lot to the imagination.
Perhaps the most interesting rumor regarding the matter linked both Brady and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton to the Dolphins.
The report essentially stated that before former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores filed his lawsuit, the Dolphins were interested in acquiring both Payton and Brady.
That would have made the Dolphins Super Bowl contenders in the blink of an eye.
Of course, that did not come to pass. Brady instead returned the Bucs, and he will surely try to win another Super Bowl in the upcoming season to add to his hefty collection.
As for the Dolphins, new head coach Mike McDaniel and young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will look to end the team’s recent trend of knocking on the playoff door but falling just short before the finish line.
