Former Dolphins exec rips Tua Tagovailoa, says Patriots have ‘best Alabama quarterback’ in division

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has a lot of doubters. After two seasons in the NFL, he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in the eyes of some.

While new Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel appears to have tons of confidence in Tagovailoa heading into the 2022 NFL season, current football analyst and former Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum has his doubts. He recently ripped Tagovailoa and used the quarterback as reasoning for why he thinks the New England Patriots are better than the Dolphins at the moment.

Tannenbaum’s comments will surely anger some Dolphins fans, while others may agree with his analysis. Though all Dolphins fans are surely rooting for Tagovailoa to succeed, some have already made up their minds about what the future holds for the former University of Alabama star.

The truth is that the 2022 NFL season may be something of a make-or-break year for Tagovailoa in Miami. Though he has shown glimpses of excellence in his first two seasons, he has yet to really put it all together. Moreover, he has struggled to stay on the field. He played in 13 games last season.

One major difference that the 2022 season brings is the undeniable fact that the team has surrounded Tagovailoa with lots of new talent. The team has made a clear point to add key payers on the offensive side of the ball this offseason.

The most notable addition, of course, is Tyreek Hill.

Tagovailoa is being put in a position to succeed. If he does, doubters like Tannenbaum will likely find ways to walk back their previous statements.

However, if Tagovailoa fails to impress, it is quite likely that calls for the Dolphins to find a new option at quarterback will only grow louder.
