Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki revealed in a hilarious way on Twitter that the team is re-signing Durham Smythe.
Smythe is apparently getting a two-year deal to stay with the Dolphins. Last season, he caught 34 passes for 357 yards. He was unable to catch a touchdown pass in 17 games (12 starts).
Gesicki spent lots of time last season campaigning for Smythe to get a new deal, and it looks like he finally got his wish.
Gesicki will also be back with the Dolphins next season after getting franchised tagged by the team. In the 2021 campaign, he caught 73 passes for 780 yards and two touchdowns.
Both Gesicki and Smythe are surely hoping to help the Dolphins make it to the playoffs next season for the first time since the 2016 campaign.
