Report: Miami Dolphins make huge decision regarding Mike Gesicki’s future with team

1 Min Read

A new report indicates that the Miami Dolphins have placed the franchise tag on tight end Mike Gesicki, which ensures that he’ll be with the team for the 2022 season.

The move doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Last season, Gesicki caught a career-high 73 passes, and he has seen his numbers increase in that department during each of his four NFL seasons.

The 26-year-old has formed a strong connection with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, which certainly helps explain why the Dolphins were eager to keep the former second-round pick in the fold.

NFL free agency is officially set to start on March 16, with the Dolphins hoping to bolster their roster after missing out on the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season.
