Report: La’el Collins has interest in the Miami Dolphins, who like the offensive lineman

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly one of the teams that offensive lineman La’el Collins is interested in. He’s set to be released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Collins has spent his entire six-year career with the Cowboys after they signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

His undrafted status came as a result of a shocking matter that unfolded shortly before the 2015 NFL Draft. Collins’ name was linked to a double homicide in Louisiana. He was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.

Collins has played in 74 NFL games and started 71 of them.

It would make sense for the Dolphins to have interest in signing Collins, given their focus on upgrading their offensive line in an effort to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Last season, Miami’s offensive line allowed 40 sacks, with Tagovailoa being brought down on 20 of those during his 13 games.

NFL free agency has been busy so far. The Dolphins are looking to make upgrades not only to their offensive line, but at other positions as well. In addition, they’re expected by many fans to consider selecting linemen during the 2022 NFL Draft next month.

In addition to the Dolphins, Collins is reportedly on the radars of other teams. It’ll be interesting to see where he lands and how competitive his market becomes.

Among the other teams that are reportedly interested in Collins are the Cincinnati Bengals. Like the Dolphins, the Bengals are seeking to offer as much protection as possible to their young quarterback. They have a rising star in Joe Burrow.
