Mike McDaniel is the new head coach for the Miami Dolphins, and the offensive-minded coach seems to have a soft spot for Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Despite a relatively quiet sophomore season, Tagovailoa played some of his best football while the Dolphins fought for their playoff lives.
As it turns out, it seems McDaniel really likes what he has seen from Tagovailoa. Moreover, he reportedly told the Dolphins brass that he would construct the Dolphins offense around Tagovailoa’s strengths.
Now that the job is his, fans can expect McDaniel to follow through on that promise. McDaniel is apparently “very high” on Tagovailoa.
After two straight winning seasons, it seems clear that the Dolphins are simply too talented to execute a complete rebuild with their new head coach. Moreover, reports indicate that the organization remains committed to Tagovailoa.
If the former University of Alabama standout can reach his full potential, there’s no doubt that the Dolphins have what it takes to make it to the playoffs.
The Dolphins’ new coach is surely going to want to approach this upcoming offseason with the quarterback in mind.
Miami has suffered from a drought of production at both the wide receiver and running back positions in recent seasons. Getting more talent in those positions would give Tagovailoa a lot more freedom to do what he does best. The team could also use some reinforcements on the offensive line.
With McDaniel now on board, it stands to reason that Tagovailoa will be set up for success in the 2022 season.
