Report: Kellen Moore gave the Miami Dolphins an ‘impressive presentation’ on Saturday

The Miami Dolphins’ search for their next head coach is still ongoing.

It seems like there are a couple of leading candidates for the position, including Kellen Moore of the Dallas Cowboys, who reportedly gave Miami an “impressive presentation” on Saturday.

“San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, who reportedly met with Ross and his selection committee for 10 hours on Friday, entered the weekend viewed as the front-runner to replace Brian Flores,” wrote Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel. “But team sources say Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore delivered an impressive presentation on Saturday.”

Moore has served as Dallas’ offensive coordinator since 2019. Before that, he was the team’s quarterbacks coach.

The Dolphins are likely intrigued by the young coach in part because of his track record. Moore led Dallas’ offense to elite production in the 2021 regular season. The Cowboys averaged 407.0 yards and 31.2 points per game.

If Miami does decide to give Moore a shot, the Dolphins will certainly hope to see the former quarterback help out youngster Tua Tagovailoa in his development.

Miami is reportedly prepared to head into the next season with Tagovailoa as its starting quarterback. Tagovailoa has become a polarizing talent since being drafted in 2020, but he’ll look to silence the doubters next season.

Aside from Moore, the Dolphins are also reportedly considering 49ers offensive coordinator McDaniel. The 38-year-old helped San Francisco average 375.7 yards and 25.1 points per game in the 2021 regular season.

San Francisco almost reached the Super Bowl this season. However, the team lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC title game. It remains to be seen if McDaniel’s time with the 49ers is over.

The Dolphins are hoping to make the right hire and crack the playoffs as soon as possible.
