According to a report, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is “not pushing” for the organization to acquire Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
“I do hear that Miami owner Stephen Ross is not pushing his football people to deal for Watson right now,” wrote Peter King of ProFootballTalk. “Which is smart. It makes zero sense for a team to deal huge assets for a player when the team doesn’t know when the player will be able to play.”
With so much uncertainty surrounding Watson’s future, some NFL fans are surprised to hear his name involved in so many trade rumors.
The 26-year-old is still at the center of a number of alarming sexual assault and harassment allegations. That situation remains ongoing.
It certainly sounds like Ross isn’t adamant about trading for Watson. Time will tell if that changes in the future. The NFL trade deadline is set for Nov. 2.
For now, Tua Tagovailoa is still Miami’s quarterback. The youngster has looked sharp in recent weeks, but the Dolphins haven’t been able to snap their losing streak.
The team is 1-6 on the season and likely isn’t going to crack the playoffs.
