Report: Houston Texans told another team it has to beat Miami Dolphins’ offer to land Deshaun Watson

With the trade deadline nearing, rumors that the Miami Dolphins will trade for Deshaun Watson are heating up.

They are reportedly the frontrunners to land the polarizing Houston Texans star.

A few days ago, it was also reported that Miami was close to acquiring Watson. So far, no trade has been completed. But with the Dolphins sinking in the standings, they may be ready to shake things up and land an established quarterback.

It is still unclear how Miami would proceed with Watson on the roster if they do successfully trade for him. The 26-year-old is currently in the middle of several sexual assault allegations. He has yet to play a single game this season.

The Dolphins would also likely need to give up a significant number of assets in any trade package for Watson. In addition to including draft picks, they would probably look to deal away young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to clear the path for Watson to take over.
