Emmanuel Ogbah not worried about contract negotiations, sees himself with Miami Dolphins long term

Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah will be a free agent following the 2021 season.

Recently, he stated that he sees himself playing with the franchise for a long time.

“Like I said before plenty of times I’ve been asked, I’m just focusing on this season,” Ogbah said. “When I’m out there, I’m going out there to ball, help this team win games. My agent will handle his business. I always see myself long term here. But it is what is. I’m just ready to work, help this team win games.”

Ogbah signed a two-year deal with the Dolphins in March of 2020. He had previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl just a month before his free-agency move.

Unfortunately for Ogbah, he was not able to play in the championship game after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season.

With the Dolphins last season, the 27-year-old had arguably the best year of his career. He finished the season with 42 tackles, a career-high nine sacks and three forced fumbles.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Dolphins will offer Ogbah an extension during the season. The team could also re-sign him in the offseason.

In the meantime, the Oklahoma State University product will look to help Miami reach the playoffs this season.
