Over the weekend, the rumors linking the Miami Dolphins to Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson made a strong comeback.
After weeks of quiet on the issue, a report came out pegging the Dolphins as a very realistic destination for Watson. The report also stated that a trade could come in a matter of days.
As a result, sports pundit Colin Cowherd decided to take a shot at second-year passer Tua Tagovailoa.
It’s an odd take, and it’s one that is sure to bring about a high level of reaction from Dolphins fans.
That’s especially true considering the fact that the vast majority of the news surrounding Tagovailoa has been positive as of late. He seems poised to take a big leap in his second year.
Still, the Dolphins’ reported interested in Watson certainly raises some questions. After all, the team would likely not be interested in Watson at all if it was fully confident in Tagovailoa’s ability.
With that in mind, it is currently hard to gauge how serious the Dolphins truly are in regards to Watson.
Ultimately, only time will tell if a deal takes place. For now, it seems Dolphins fans should expect Tagovailoa to line up behind center in Week 1. How he performs from there will surely have a strong impact on the confidence surrounding him.
