Report: Miami Dolphins place Vince Biegel on injured reserve

The Miami Dolphins placed linebacker Vince Biegel on the injured reserve list, putting an end to his hopes of returning to the field with the team in 2021.

Biegel was making an effort to come back from a devastating torn Achilles that he suffered during last year’s training camp, an injury that kept him out the entire year.

In 2019, Biegel had been acquired from the New Orleans Saints and finished with 2.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss.

The 28-year-old Biegel was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2017 and played in nine games that year. After the Packers released him the following year, he was picked up by the Saints and saw action in 14 contests.

The 2019 deal that brought Biegel to the Dolphins involved sending linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Saints.

Due to the timing of Biegel’s placement on injured reserve, the Dolphins would not be able to bring him back during the 2021 campaign.
