Report: Miami Dolphins unlikely to trade No. 6 pick if Kyle Pitts is available

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Miami Dolphins are considering trading the No. 6 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

While the No. 6 overall pick seems to be in play, NFL reporter Ian Rapoport broke down one reason why the Dolphins would stand pat at the sixth pick.

“If the Miami Dolphins at six, if they like who’s there,” he began. “Let’s say Kyle Pitts falls to them at six, they would have a hard time, I would imagine just based on my knowledge, trading out of taking Kyle Pitts.”

Without a doubt, Pitts is one of the most talented prospects in this year’s draft class.

At the tight end position, Pitts is a weapon that the Dolphins could build a lot of their offense around.

Last season, the 6-foot-6 tight end caught 43 passes for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s got the size, speed and skills to help turn an NFL offense in a touchdown machine.

While it is clearly possible that the Dolphins could trade back, it seems that Pitts would be one reason to stick with the sixth pick.

Only time will tell if the Dolphins even get to consider selecting the talented tight end later this month.
