Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones is set to become a free agent this offseason and has now expressed a clear interest in signing with the Miami Dolphins.
Jones, 30, is coming off another productive season with the Lions, in which he recorded 76 receptions for 978 yards and nine touchdowns.
With Detroit preparing to go into full rebuild mode with a new head coach, general manager and quarterback taking over, Jones has been speculated to be headed to a new team for next season.
Jones entered the NFL in 2012 as a fifth-round draft pick and spent the first three seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before signing with Detroit in 2016. Through eight seasons in the league, Jones has tallied 6,025 receiving yards and 51 touchdowns.
Adding a veteran presence like Jones to the wide receiving corps would most certainly boost the Dolphins’ passing offense, which finished in the bottom half of the league last season with 233.5 yards per game.
