New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton claimed that Miami Dolphins defenders were trying to snatch his chain in the Patriots 21-11 victory over Miami on Sunday.
Newton was making his debut for New England and seems to already be getting into it with one of its rivals.
However, Dolphins defensive end Shaq Lawson was just one of the players who disputed Newton’s claims.
The Dolphins’ defense was solid on Sunday, but the offense struggled as Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed three interceptions in the loss.
Newton did get the last laugh against Miami, as he ran for a pair of touchdowns on the day.
The former league MVP threw for just 155 yards, but he killed the Dolphins on the ground, as he tallied 15 carries for 75 yards.
