Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is making every effort to get back to full health if a new video from his rehabilitation is any indication.
Tagovailoa is undergoing his rehabilitation at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala., not far from where he starred at the University of Alabama.
Prior to suffering two injuries while playing for the Crimson Tide last season, Tagovailoa was considered a strong candidate to be the first player selected in last month’s NFL draft.
However, after undergoing major hip surgery last November, there was doubt whether Tagovailoa would even make himself available for the draft. That was due to the possibility of a potentially steep drop that would’ve ended up costing him plenty of money.
Tagovailoa was able to allay fears about the state of his health prior to the draft, with the Dolphins then selecting him with the fifth overall pick.
The intensity with which Tagovailoa is showing in his rehabilitation is not only a good sign for his improved health but also shows that his work ethic is strong.
Tagovailoa is likely to spend much of the 2020 NFL season on the sidelines, partly because the Dolphins want to make sure that he’s fully healthy when he does take the field.
That time will allow Tagovailoa to absorb knowledge from both the coaching staff and fellow signal-caller Ryan Fitzpatrick.
