Report: Miami Dolphins Rushed to Meet Tua Tagovailoa Before NFL Banned Visits

The Miami Dolphins’ interest in University of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had them rushing to try to meet him in person prior to the NFL halting in-person visits as a result of the novel coronavirus.

Unfortunately, the team was not able to get a visit in.

Though the visit did not happen, the Dolphins’ attempt to examine Tagovailoa in person is a clear indication of their interest.

The real question now is whether or not the Dolphins will be able to accept the reports of his clean bill of health despite not being able to examine him themselves.

Early in March, Tagovailoa passed a four-month medical check, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

More recently, the former college star showed off his arm and mobility in videos taken at his Pro Day. Just like in college, his footwork looked smooth and his release looked crisp and strong.

Beyond that, his representatives told ESPN that the results of a medical recheck had been “overwhelmingly positive.”

While all the signs are pointing to Tagovailoa being ready to go from a physical standpoint, the inability to examine him has certainly given teams around the NFL pause.

It remains to be seen whether or not one of those teams is the Dolphins.
