Miami Dolphins Fans Overwhelmingly Select Tua Tagovailoa With No. 5 Pick in Latest Mock Draft

It’s no mystery that the Miami Dolphins are expected to select a quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft.

According to a new mock draft, Dolphins fans overwhelmingly want their future quarterback to be University of Alabama standout Tua Tagovailoa.

“The Miami Dolphins took Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL mock draft conducted by B/R users via voting on Friday,” Bleacher Report recently reported.

Tagovailoa is widely considered to be one of the most talented players in this year’s draft class, but injury concerns have cast doubt over where he will ultimately end up.

At the moment, the expectation is that the Dolphins will either select him or University of Oregon product Justin Herbert.

Between the two, Tagovailoa is so favored amongst Dolphins fans that team general manager Chris Grier felt the need to issue a public plea to fans to trust that the team will make the best decision come draft day.

Tagovailoa’s greatest collegiate season came in 2018 when he finished second in Heisman Trophy voting to current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

That season, Tagovailoa threw for 3,966 yards, 43 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Last season, he threw for 2,840 yards, 33 touchdowns and three picks despite his season being cut short due to a serious hip injury.

The hip injury, and a number of other injuries are what teams all around the NFL are concerned about.

In fact, a recent report detailed how the Dolphins scrambled to try to get their own team doctors to examine Tagovailoa prior to the NFL’s travel ban due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins were unsuccessful in examining the star thrower themselves. Whether or not that keeps the Dolphins from drafting him next week remains to be seen.
