The 24-year-old quarterback enters his second season in the NFL after an impressive rookie season.
Despite playing for the downtrodden Oakland Raiders, Derek Carr was one of the team’s few bright spots as he threw for 21 touchdowns versus just 12 interceptions while starting all 16 games in his rookie campaign.
The Raiders will be slightly better in 2015 and they have legit young weapons in RB Latavius Murray and WR Amari Cooper. In Cooper’s junior season at the University of Alabama, the receiver posted over 1,700 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, both school records.
Because of the losing history of the Raiders, Carr will fly under-the-radar on draft day. He is considered the 24th-best quarterback in fantasy football entering this upcoming season.
There is no way that he’ll be that low when it pertains to fantasy points by the end of the season. Carr will likely develop into a top-end backup/low-end No. 1 option before the end of the season.
