Miami Dolphins pass rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb have both been around for the ups and downs of the Mike McDaniel era.
Phillips has been a Dolphin since they drafted him in the opening round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and Chubb has been with the team since he got traded to Miami midway through the 2022 season.
However, NFL insider Adam Schefter holds the opinion that the Dolphins will deal “at least one” of Chubb or Phillips in the very near future. The league’s trade deadline is just one week away at this juncture on Nov. 4.
“I think the Miami Dolphins will move at least one of their pass rushers, Jaelan Phillips or Bradley Chubb,” he said.
It’s hard to gauge who or what the Dolphins would be able to get in exchange for one of their pass rushers on the open market, but they’ve both enjoyed productive 2025 seasons up to this point. Chubb already has four sacks to his name along with five tackles for loss and seven quarterback hits across eight starts. Meanwhile, Phillips has recovered a fumble and tallied a pair of sacks as well as six quarterback hits.
A perhaps surprising factor in how they’ve fared this season is that they’ve been able to stay on the field for the Dolphins. Neither player has sat out a single game to this point. Chubb missed the entire 2024 season with a torn ACL and Phillips was limited to merely four appearances and three starts last season.
But while both players have been pictures of health in the campaign to date, their lengthy injury histories could still prove to hurt their trade value and make getting a strong package for them difficult. Thus, perhaps it would be in Miami’s best interest to hold onto them past the deadline, even if this season is already lost.
The Dolphins have just two wins on the campaign and are headed towards underwhelming season in which they lose more games than they win, but Phillips and Chubb could prove to be valuable in the 2026 season. There’s a chance Miami is surprisingly competitive next season. In that case, the team would maybe regret moving on from both players.
Phillips and Chubb are two names fans of the Dolphins should be closely monitoring as the deadline gets closer.
