Free agent WR says he’s in great shape, has kept in contact with Dolphins

Wide receiver Robbie Chosen, who has just over 5,000 career receiving yards in the NFL, spent the last two seasons in a limited role with the Miami Dolphins organization.

Chosen didn’t get many opportunities to contribute with all of the talent the Dolphins have at the position with the likes of Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. He appeared in 11 games in the 2023 and 2024 seasons combined and totaled just 131 receiving yards in that two-season span.

The 32-year-old is a free agent now, and he claimed that he’s in the best shape of his life. He’s seeking to join a team and admitted he has kept in touch with the Dolphins organization.

“Yeah, I have teams that are interested in me that I’m interested in,” Chosen said. “I’m just staying patient and just preparing — I’m a veteran. You know how it cranks up for us towards training camp and things like that. So, I’m just prepared. I know I’m in the best shape of my life — I’m just preparing to have the best season of my life, and I’m fully confident and just staying patient, staying ready.”

He continued.

“Yeah, we keep communication,” Chosen said on if he’s talked to the Dolphins. “We have a good relationship. I know how they feel about me, they know what I’m capable of and we still communicate.”

Chosen was released by the Dolphins early on in the 2024 season after he played in the team’s first two games of the campaign — against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills — and contributed little across those contests. He finished with zero receiving yards against the Jaguars and just five against the Bills before he was let go.

Based on the limited opportunities Chosen had during his Dolphins tenure, it might be in the best interest of his career to sign with another team outside of the Dolphins, even when factoring in what seems to be a solid relationship between the two sides.

Chosen has proven that he can be a highly effective receiver at the highest level when he’s more involved in an offensive attack. He’s totaled as many as 1,096 in a single NFL season, and he enjoyed that level of production as a member of the Carolina Panthers back in the 2020 campaign.

With any luck, Chosen will soon land with a team that can give him ample touches and playing time and have the best season of his NFL career to date in the 2025 campaign.

If he’s in the best shape of his life as he claims to be, a career year may be well within the realm of possibility for the veteran. Having a productive 2025 season after how his stint in Miami panned out would be impressive.
