Tyreek Hill says he needs 2,000 yards this season

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill shared that his goal is to reach 2,000 receiving yards in the 2025 season.

Hill, who has spent the last three seasons with the Dolphins since being acquired in a trade with the Kansa City Chiefs, is coming off arguably his worst season of his career.

In the 2024 season, Hill caught 81 passes – his fewest since the 2019 season when he appeared in just 12 games – for 959 yards and six scores. He also finished with an average of just 56.4 receiving yards per game, his lowest since his rookie season.

However, the struggles weren’t all Hill’s fault. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed six games, and the Dolphins struggled with Tyler Huntley, Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle all taking snaps in his place.

As a result, Hill’s production dipped after two massive seasons to start his career in Miami.

In the 2022 season, his first with the Dolphins, Hill immediately transformed the team’s offense, finishing with 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. He earned an All-Pro selection and one of his eight Pro-Bowl selections of his career.

In the 2023 season, Hill may have been even better. For the second straight season, he caught 119 passes, except he only needed 16 games to reach that number (Hill played 17 games in the 2022 season).

He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in the 2023 season while earning yet another All-Pro nod. So, the goal of 2,000 receiving yards may not be out of reach.

For Hill to truly hit that milestone, he’ll likely need Tagovailoa to stay healthy for the entire 2025 season. The Dolphins were just 2-4 in the six games that their star quarterback missed in the 2024 campaign.

Hill, 31, seems to be on a mission to prove that he’s still one of the best receivers in the NFL. The one-time Super Bowl champion has six seasons in his career where he’s finished with over 1,000 receiving yards, so he’s certainly capable of putting up massive numbers.

After missing the playoffs in the 2024 season, the Dolphins are hoping to get back there in the 2025 season. An explosive offensive campaign from Hill would certainly help Miami when it comes to reaching that goal.
