Tyreek Hill drops bold claim amid questions about his NFL future

There has been much speculation about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s future ever since Miami wrapped up what was an underwhelming 2024 season.

Following the Dolphins’ loss to the New York Jets in their season finale on Jan. 5, Hill heavily hinted at wanting to leave the team. He said that while he has enjoyed his time in Miami, he has “to do what’s best” for him, his family and his career, at one point saying, “I’m out.”

Just days after Miami lost to the Jets, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus seemingly gave mixed signals on Hill’s feelings. On one hand, Rosenhaus claimed that Hill is committed to Miami, but the agent also wasn’t ready to answer a question about whether the veteran still wants to be a Dolphin.

On Friday, Hill dropped a bold claim on X.

One team recently connected to Hill was the New England Patriots. The Patriots were predicted as a landing spot for him, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, with a veteran NFC personnel man describing New England as “desperate.”

The Patriots are on the heels of an underwhelming 4-13 campaign in which they finished with the worst record in the AFC East division. But with incoming head coach Mike Vrabel now in the fold and New England in possession of one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Patriots could potentially turn some heads next season.

Regardless of whether Hill stays in Miami or is traded elsewhere, he will look to live up to his claim on X and play at a higher level in the 2025 campaign than he did in his third season with the Dolphins. Playing through injury, Hill had his worst season since joining the Dolphins and one of the worst of his NFL career.

The 30-year-old receiver tied a career-low with six receiving touchdowns across 17 games played with the Dolphins. He also totaled less than 1,000 receiving yards in a season for just the third time of his NFL career and the first time since the 2019 campaign.

It seems like there is a good chance Hill will be back with Miami, but nothing is set in stone.
