Odell Beckham Jr. flexes on his haters after taking Bitcoin in salary in 2021

The 2021 NFL season was a memorable one for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

During it, he was released by the Cleveland Browns, landed with the Los Angeles Rams, took his Rams salary in Bitcoin, won a Super Bowl and tore his ACL.

His decision to take his Rams salary in Bitcoin was questioned by some, but years later, he appears to feel good about his choice with the cryptocurrency reaching record prices.

Crypto, generally seen as a risky investment, is currently enjoying a surge following Donald Trump’s election victory, as he branded himself as a pro-crypto candidate while campaigning.

Beckham is in his first season with the Dolphins, and it’s been a rocky one for him. Across five games, he has been targeted just eight times, and he has just five receptions to his name for 32 yards.

He missed the first four games of the season while on the PUP list and hasn’t been a major factor since returning.

The good news for the veteran is that he has been more of a factor in recent weeks. After he didn’t catch a single pass in his first three appearances, all five of his catches this season have come in Miami’s two most recent games. That could indicate that he’ll have more of a role the rest of the way.

Earlier in his career, Beckham was a frequent threat to exceed 1,000 receiving yards each season, but those years are likely behind him. The Dolphins signed him to be a complementary option, and they’re likely hoping that his production will pick up now that he’s starting to rack up receptions.

Beckham and the Dolphins know that their margin for effort the rest of the way is extremely slim, with the team just 3-6 and barely hanging on in the playoff conversation. Fortunately, Miami has a couple of winnable games coming up against the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots, so a 5-6 record within the next couple of weeks isn’t out of the picture.

If Beckham can help the Dolphins get back in the playoff mix, the organization will likely feel good about the deal it gave him.
