Ahead of the Miami Dolphins’ Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, more than a dozen players for Miami — 13 in total — are listed on the team’s injury report.
Maybe the most notable name on the Dolphins’ injury report is cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. On Friday, Ramsey and the Dolphins agreed to terms on a three-year, $72.3 million contract. The 29-year-old is now the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
Linebacker Jaelan Phillips (Achilles/vet rest), safety Jordan Poyer (thumb/vet rest), linebacker Anthony Walker (knee/vet rest), tackle Terron Armstead (vet rest), defensive tackle Calais Campbell (vet rest), cornerback Kendall Fuller (vet rest), linebacker David Long (vet rest), wide receiver Malik Washington (quadricep), linebacker Quinton Bell (thumb), center Aaron Brewer (hand), safety Jevon Holland (ankle) and defensive tackle Benito Jones (knee) make up the remainder of Miami’s injury report.
There are multiple Dolphins on the injury report outside of Ramsey who were valuable contributors to the team last season. For one, Phillips was one of Miami’s more disruptive defensive players. He sat out for more than half of the 2023 regular season, but he still finished with 43 combined tackles, 28 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, 11 quarterback hits and seven tackles for loss.
Holland is another player who was a solid contributor for Miami’s defensive unit last season. Across 12 games played, he racked up a career-high 22 assisted tackles to go along with three forced fumbles, one recovered fumble and 74 combined tackles.
The Jaguars have a much smaller injury report than the Dolphins do. The only two players listed on their report are safety Daniel Thomas (Achilles) and defensive end Arik Armstead (vet rest).
Sunday’s game between the Jaguars and Dolphins will take place at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami’s home stadium. As a reminder, the Dolphins were incredibly difficult to beat at home during the 2023 regular season.
Miami lost only two of its nine games at Hard Rock Stadium, and both of those losses came by seven points or fewer.
