‘I wanted to f——g go punch my f——g locker 100 times’: Tyreek didn’t take playoff loss to Chiefs lightly

Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill recently shared his immediate feelings after the Dolphins lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs during the 2023 season.

“I love football,” Hill said. “I’m passionate about it. I wanna win. I was born a winner. My whole entire life, I’ve been a winner. I hate losin’. When we lost against the Chiefs, bruh, I wanted to f—— go punch my f—— locker 100 times. F— that s—, bruh. I was pissed. F— that. I wanna win.”

The Dolphins lost 26-7 to the Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs, struggling to get any offense going in frigid weather in Kansas City.

The Chiefs, Hill’s former team, went on to win the Super Bowl for the second straight season since they traded him to Miami. While the Dolphins have made the playoffs in both of those seasons, they have yet to earn a playoff win in the Hill era.

Miami’s offense struggled all game against Kansas City, as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was limited to just 199 passing yards on 39 attempts (20 completions).

Hill scored Miami’s lone touchdown and reeled in five of his eight targets for 62 yards. Unfortunately, it wasn’t close to enough for the Dolphins to earn the win.

A five-time first-team All-Pro selection, Hill has enjoyed some of the best seasons of his career in Miami playing alongside Tagovailoa. He put up 1,710 receiving yards in the 2022 season and an NFL-best 1,799 receiving yards last season. Not only that, but Hill also led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in the 2023 campaign with 13.

Dolphins fans have to love how passionate the star receiver is about winning, and his passion should help drive other players on the roster to want to win. Hill won a Super Bowl during his time in Kansas City, so he knows what it takes to accomplish the ultimate goal in the NFL.

Last season, Miami’s loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 18 cost it the AFC East division title, which set up a first-round meeting with the Chiefs.

It’s likely that Hill and his teammates are stung by that Week 18 loss – and the playoff loss – and want to avoid a similar scenario when the 2024 season kicks off in September.
