Tyreek Hill’s agent on potential new deal for star: ‘The Dolphins know how we feel’

Drew Rosenhaus — the agent of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill — recently provided some insightful remarks regarding a potential new contract for the 30-year-old.

“Let’s just say it’s safe to acknowledge that I’ve been in touch with Chris Grier and Brandon Shore of the Dolphins,” Rosenhaus said on the subject of Hill possibly inking a new deal with Miami. “I certainly have a fluid line of communication with them, and I’ve shared with them how Tyreek feels. And I’ll also reiterate that Tyreek has said that he would love to finish his career here with the Dolphins. So, without getting into any more specifics, the Dolphins know how we feel.”

A few days back, Hill liked some posts on X (formerly known as Twitter) from fans suggesting the Dolphins should deal him.

There’s an argument to be made that Hill put together the best receiving season in the history of the Dolphins organization in the 2023 campaign. Across 16 games played during the regular season, he accumulated 1,799 receiving yards, the most of any Dolphin in franchise history.

He also racked up 119 receptions, which tied a franchise record for most receptions in a single season.

Hill’s brilliance on the offensive side of the ball resulted in a lot of collective success for the Dolphins, too. The Dolphins won 11 games during the regular season and finished tied for the second-best record of any team in the AFC.

For context on just how impressive the 2023 regular season was for Miami, the team hasn’t won more than 11 games in a single season since 1990, when Dan Marino was the team’s signal-caller.

Part of the reason why Hill and the Dolphins finished with such an impressive record was the fact that the team was dominant at home. Miami ended up with a 7-2 record at home compared to a 4-4 record away from home.

But Miami’s promising 2023 season came to a disappointing end, as the team lost its final two games of the regular season as well as its first playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Hill didn’t have his best performance in the Dolphins’ matchup against his former team, considering he finished with just 62 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on five receptions.

The veteran averaged a league-best 112.4 receiving yards per contest in the regular season but mustered just over half of that total in Miami’s decisive 26-7 loss to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and company.

Regardless of the fact that Hill didn’t play at his best when the playoffs rolled around, his historic numbers in the regular season suggest that he is a talent that the Dolphins should try to employ for as long as possible.
