Report: Hall of Fame honoring Tyreek Hill following his historic season with Miami Dolphins

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has acquired an artifact honoring Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

A game-worn Hill jersey is now on display at the Hall of Fame’s “Pro Football Today Gallery” after he became the first player in the history of the NFL to record 1,700-plus receiving yards in multiple seasons.

In his first regular season with the Dolphins, the 2022 campaign, he racked up 1,710 receiving yards across 17 appearances.

Fast forward to the following regular season, the 2023 campaign, and he totaled a career-high 1,799 receiving yards to go along with 13 receiving touchdowns and 83 first downs receiving. Hill led the NFL in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns this season.

The 29-year-old is also just the second player in the history of the league to accumulate 700-plus receptions, 10,000-plus receiving yards and 75-plus touchdown receptions during his first eight seasons in the NFL, with the other player being Marvin Harrison, a Hall of Famer.

Hill was arguably the most productive player in the league at his position this season, but he didn’t play his best football when it mattered most. He underperformed in the Dolphins’ playoff loss to his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, earlier this month, as he finished with just 62 receiving yards on five receptions. For reference, Hill averaged a whopping 112.4 receiving yards per game during the 2023 regular season.

But Hill wasn’t the only star player on the Dolphins to underperform versus the Chiefs. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa — who led the NFL in total passing yards during the regular season — threw for just 199 yards and one touchdown compared to one interception in the playoff loss.

Regardless of how Miami’s season came to an end, what Hill managed to accomplish with the Dolphins from an individual standpoint is nothing short of incredible. He could very well be in the conversation as one of the better wide receivers ever to play the game of football when his NFL career is all said and done.
