Former Miami Dolphins running back Damien Williams has found himself in legal trouble after he was arrested and charged him with battery of a pregnant woman, per a report by Ryan Yousefi of Coconut Creek Talk. The victim is 10 weeks pregnant with his child.

Based on arrest records from the Coconut Creek Police Department, Williams figured in a dispute with the woman after they allegedly had a disagreement over their dog’s food. The argument reportedly escalated quickly and resulted in the victim enduring physical injuries, including scratch marks and bruises.

While the woman decided not to provide a recorded statement, the 31-year-old player was transported to jail.

It remains to be seen how Williams’ fate will turn out and if his brush with the law will affect his potential return to the field. He is currently a free agent after suiting up for over a month for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2023 season.

Before turning pro, the 5-foot-11 running back played for two campaigns at the University of Oklahoma, rushing for a total of 18 touchdowns and 1,499 yards. Before he could finish his second season with the team, he was dismissed from the program for undisclosed reasons.

Williams went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Dolphins later decided to sign him.

He made his professional debut in Miami’s 2014 season opener and ended up playing 16 games in that campaign. His rookie year saw him record 36 rushing attempts for 122 yards and catch 21 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown.

Williams played for the Dolphins through the 2017 season before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent.

He helped the Chiefs reach the AFC Championship Game in the 2018 season, where they lost to the New England Patriots, before having a key role in the team’s Super Bowl win the following campaign. The running back scored Kansas City’s last two touchdowns, with the first of them coming off a five-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes that gave the team a 23-20 lead. He then rushed for 38 yards to score another touchdown and seal the title for the Chiefs.

Since then, Williams has transferred from team to team, with Arizona being his latest stop.
