Behind-the-scenes look at Terron Armstead’s message before Dolphins beat Cowboys: ‘We don’t give a f—k who over there’

Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead had an impassioned message for his team before its 22-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. In a huddle prior to kickoff, Armstead did his best to fire up his teammates.

“We don’t give a f— who over there,” Armstead told his teammates. “It’s all about us. Let’s fly around. Let’s hit somebody in the f—— mouth from the start to the finish. Let’s get busy today, man!”

Armstead’s message was clearly well-received, as the Dolphins went out and picked up their best win of the season over the Cowboys. It was Miami’s first victory against a team with a winning record all season.

Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders was a major part of the reason Miami was able to come out victorious in the game. Sanders connected on five field goals over the course of the contest, including a game-winner as time expired. Three of his made field goals were from over 50 yards, which is pretty impressive.

Miami moved to 11-4 with the win and clinched a playoff berth in the process. The Baltimore Ravens are the only other team in the AFC that has secured a spot in the playoffs at this point in time.

This is the second straight season that the Dolphins have secured a spot in the postseason. Last season, Miami lost 34-31 to the Buffalo Bills in the first round. The Dolphins haven’t won a single playoff game since the 2000 campaign, so they will assuredly be looking to put an end to that streak when postseason play gets underway.

However, before the Dolphins can look ahead to the playoffs, they have to finish out the rest of their regular season slate, and that won’t necessarily be easy. Miami’s remaining two games come against the Ravens and Bills. Both of those teams have winning records, and both are still fighting for postseason positioning at this late stage of the season.

The game against the Ravens will take place at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, while the contest with the Bills will be a home game for Miami. On the season, the Dolphins are 7-1 at home and 4-3 in away games (with that 4-3 mark including their neutral-site game in Germany).

If the Dolphins can win both of their remaining games, they will finish the season with a 13-4 record. That would represent their most wins in a single season since the 1984 campaign.
