Miami Dolphins in fantastic shape heading into Kansas City Chiefs showdown after latest injury news

The Miami Dolphins are about to head into one of their biggest games of the year on Sunday in Germany with a roster that is perhaps the healthiest it has been all season.

On Saturday, Miami activated offensive tackle Terron Armstead off injured reserve, and the 32-year-old is expected to play in the much-anticipated matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt.

Center Connor Williams also is expected to be back from injury, though injured guards Robert Hunt and Isaiah Wynn are among the very few key Dolphins who will be unable to go in the high-profile AFC contest. Miami also will be without rookie running back De’Von Achane.

Saturday’s news can only be seen as very encouraging after the Dolphins listed as many as 14 players on their injury report in the week leading up to the game.

The Dolphins have been getting back players from injury while continuing to win games. They enter Sunday with a 6-2 record, the same mark as the Chiefs, and are in first place in the AFC East, with their opponents leading the AFC West.

Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey made his long-awaited Dolphins debut last week in a victory against the New England Patriots. The 29-year-old had been sidelined since training camp with a knee injury. It also looks like defensive backs Xavien Howard and Jevon Holland will suit up Sunday, and pass rusher Jaelan Phillips is rounding into form after sitting out earlier in the season.

On offense, running back Jeff Wilson Jr. recently also returned from injured reserve, and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle looks to be healed from his earlier injury. Having Armstead back in the lineup should provide increased protection for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa against the Chiefs’ tough defense. The offensive lineman has not played since Oct. 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

Miami has not defeated a team with a winning record this season, but a victory against Kansas City would go a long way toward cementing the Dolphins as serious Super Bowl contenders. Having a relatively healthy roster is the way any team would want to go into such an important game.
