Report: Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill gets hit with yet another punishment by NFL

Tyreek Hill is piling up fines from the NFL almost as quickly as he is compiling receiving yards this season, and the Miami Dolphins wideout can now add another punishment to his growing total.

The 29-year-old reportedly has been fined more than $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct related to him flashing his signature peace sign while scoring a touchdown against the New York Giants last Sunday.

Hill has reportedly been fined multiple times for uniform violations this season. The infractions supposedly have been related to Hill not properly wearing socks during games, which is said to be a competitive advantage.

The All-Pro used the peace sign gesture several times while scoring touchdowns during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs before being traded to the Dolphins prior to last season, and the tradition has continued in Miami.

This past Sunday, Hill’s 69-yard scoring play in Miami’s 31-16 victory against the Giants was his fifth receiving touchdown of the season. He reportedly was not fined for subsequently trying to get the ball to his mother in the stands. A fan intercepted that attempted handoff but eventually gave the ball to its intended recipient, and Hill reportedly presented the fan with an autographed football and jersey in appreciation.

There are likely many more touchdowns in Hill’s future this season, especially with the Dolphins offense operating at a record pace. Miami has gained the most total yards in the first five games of a season in NFL history. The team is leading the league in total offense, rushing offense, passing offense and points per game heading into its Week 6 matchup at home against the winless Carolina Panthers.

Before the campaign began, Hill said it was his goal to become the first NFL player to gain 2,000 receiving yards in a regular season. He leads the league with 651 receiving yards in five games so far, putting him on pace for 2,213 yards across 17 games.

He could be in for yet another big game for the Dolphins this weekend, who, at 4-1, are in first place in the AFC East and are double-digit betting favorites on Sunday.
