Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had some massive praise for defensive lineman Zach Sieler and linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel following the team’s win over the New York Giants in Week 5 on Sunday.
Both Van Ginkel and Sieler had huge games on defense against the Giants, combining for three sacks in the Dolphins’ win.
As a team, Miami ended up sacking Daniel Jones six times and Giants backup Tyrod Taylor once on Sunday.
Sieler had two sacks, three tackles for loss and seven total tackles in the win. Van Ginkel contributed three tackles and a sack.
The Miami defense bounced back in a big way as a whole on Sunday. The Dolphins gave up just 16 points, but the defense wasn’t even responsible for all of those. The Giants scored their only touchdown on an interception of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa that went the distance for a touchdown.
New York’s offense mustered just three field goals against the Dolphins.
The Dolphins have gotten a ton of production from Van Ginkel and Sieler this season.
Van Ginkel came into this game with three sacks on the season. He also had recorded 19 tackles, one fumble recovery and five tackles for loss through the first four weeks of the season.
Sieler, who had one sack in the team’s first four games, came into Sunday’s matchup with 13 total tackles and two tackles for loss.
Both players have been key for the Miami defense this season, and they should be able to wreak havoc in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers and rookie quarterback Bryce Young. Carolina lost to the Detroit Lions on Sunday to fall to 0-5 on the season.
It’s great to see Hill showing love for his defensive teammates, especially since he had a massive day himself on offense.
Hill caught eight passes from Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, turning those catches into 181 yards and a touchdown. It was the Dolphins wideout’s fifth touchdown of the 2023 season in five games.
The Dolphins are humming on both sides of the football, and it’s a big reason why they are now 4-1 in the 2023 season.
If Miami continues to get production from Van Ginkel and Sieler, it’s going to be a tough defense to beat.
